Wedding Pictures

So we're back from the wedding, which was beautiful and sweet and a lot of fun. The weather was perfect, food was delicious, scenery was gorgeous, and most importantly, the bride was in attendance!

After 4 days in the hospital following her abdominal surgery, and a scare three days before the wedding with an incision site infection, Kristen managed to still hit every one of her planned wedding events. The day she was released from the hospital she was at the salon with the moms and Doug getting hair and nails done. On Friday she attended her bridesmaid luncheon, rehearsal and rehearsal dinner all without complaint and with a smile on her face, even though I'm sure she was in no small amount of discomfort. You're a trooper, K.

I am finally getting around to posting some pictures. I've spent most of this week in decompression mode and it took me a while to sort through all 1000 pictures. Doug and Kristen's friend Paige Morrison, who actually introduced them (thanks, Paige!) took these (except for the last one).

Doug and his kilttastic groomsmen

Kristen gets bonus points for letting us choose our own dresses

The families. K's family is awesome - I had a lot of fun talking with her parents and brother Andrew

Kristen looked gorgeous! Doug looked pretty sharp, too.

Doug and K were married by their friends (who are also married) MJ and Shannon, who did a great job with their first wedding ceremony. Not visible in this picture is the yellowjacket that had just flown up Doug's kilt. I am not making this up.

You can find just about anything on the Internet

My dad talking to my cousins Steve and Jeff. We figured out the only time we ever see the cousins is at weddings and now we're in trouble because there's no one left to get married.

Reception bacon: nature's most perfect food...

...except for maybe Reception Tower of Cupcakes. We were up until late in the evening snacking on all the leftover cupcakes

The newlyweds had some presents waiting for them when they got home. Doug may never make it out alive

ONOES IT ATE MAH HUSBAND!

Thanks so much for being an awesome attendant (lady-in-waiting? anything with the word "matron" just sounds wrong.) Mom is still raving about your masterful work with the curling iron!

Got a great report from the surgeon this am- hopefully Doug's time as nurse will soon be coming to an end.
